Quality Rating and Improvement Systems are used across the country to improve and support the quality of early care and education programs, including family child care homes and all forms of private and public licensed and license-exempt child care settings with children ages 0-5. Studies show that when children receive high quality care and education during their early years of life, they are better prepared for school, better readers, and are more likely to graduate high school. These outcomes benefit every child and family in the community.
The primary goal of the Solano QRIS is to improve the quality of early care and education so that more children with high needs have access to quality programs. The Solano QRIS enables early care and education providers to assess, improve and communicate the level of quality in their programs. The Solano QRIS aims to improve outcomes for children who attend child care throughout Solano County.
