Parent Voices

Parent Voices is a parent-led, parent-run grassroots organization fighting to make quality child care accessible and affordable to all families.

ABOUT PARENT VOICES:

Quality, affordable and accessible child care is essential for parents to work or pursue an education and for children to grow up healthy. Parent Voices provides leadership and advocacy opportunities for parents to voice their unique child care needs and experiences in the policy making process.

BECOME A PARENT LEADER BY:

  • Creating social change by becoming a passionate parent advocate
  • Working to identify issues, solutions, and a course of action.
  • Acting with passion and resolve as an individual and through group efforts.
  • Becoming a strong, articulate parent advocate.

PARENT VOICES ACTIVITIES AND ACTIONS:

Stand for Children Day

A parent and family rally day at the Capitol. Join HUNDREDS of other parents and families in speaking out about the importance of child care and early education. Then meet and speak to your legislators in the State Capitol. Fun, excitement, and FREE! First Wednesday in May.

Knowledge is Power Day

A parent advocacy training day. Learn to become a passionate parent advocate through interactive trainings on the budget process, speaking to the media and developing action strategies for your local chapter. Last weekend in January.

Local Chapter Actions

Letter writing campaigns, local rallies and press events, meetings and local legislators, and much more.

Statewide Activities

Regional and steering committee meetings to plan coordinated actions, develop parent messages and share local chapter actions.

Our Mission

The purpose of this agency is to promote and advocate for the well-being of children and families in Solano County by providing Subsidized Child Care, Resources and Referrals, Provider/Parent Training and Education, the Child Care Food Program and Community Outreach to address the community’s diverse and ever changing needs.
